I am trying to reconcile but it says that I have $ left to clear so the only option is “Finish Later”. But i have matched all transactions in my bank with GoodBudget and everything is accounted for
“Left to clear” just means the amount you’ve cleared in this reconciliation does not equal the difference between the balance you’ve entered today and the previous balance entered (not between your ledger and your bank per se). There are many reasons this might be, including:
- there is a transaction missing from your ledger
- you have cleared a transaction that has not yet cleared your bank
- there’s a discrepancy on the date of a transaction such that it’s appearing on your bank statement or your Goodbudget ledger, but not both
- you’ve deleted an older transaction that was previously reconciled
- you’ve cleared duplicate transactions
- a typo in your current balance
- a typo in the amount of a transaction
- you’ve done your first reconciliation ever and not entered 0 as your previous balance
It can be tricky to find these, but starting with the suggestions above should probably get you there. If you’re absolutely sure that everything is correct and accounted for, you can force the system to reconcile two different ways, but I’ll wait for a request to explain how because an error in THAT process could be much more problematic.
