What do I do if i accidentally put too much in an envelope

I meant to put $25 in an envelope but accidentally put in $255. Is there a way to reset an envelope?

Hi @jseymour186,

I think the easiest option is to use an Envelope Transfer to move the extra 230 from your overfilled Envelope to another Envelope or to your Available (if you’re on the web), and you can see how to create an Envelope Transfer here.

However, if you’ve filled your Envelope using a Fill from Available (and not a Fill from Income), you can easily update that Fill from Available to adjust the amount going to that overfilled Envelope. If you’re on the website, you’ll do that by clicking on that Fill from Available, finding the Envelope you’d like to edit, and then updating the amount in the text box directly to the left of the Envelope. Be sure to hit the ‘Update’ button on the right side of the screen when you’re done.
