Transfer types

I have both transfer cr and transfer db transactions and both are seen as credits. What is the difference between the db and cr? I thought cr would be considered a credit an db would be considered a debit.

@Jagarundicat – Thanks for your post! We got your email yesterday, but we’ll reply here also.

It sounds like you’re using Bank Sync. I’m assuming the DB and CR refer to ‘debit’ and ‘credit’ and are how your bank names transfers going to or from your real-life bank accounts. If a specific bank account is receiving a transfer, I think you’ll see CR appended to your transfer’s name in your real-life bank account. Conversely, if the transfer is leaving your bank account, you’ll see ‘DB’ appended to the name.

Depending on how you confirm your transactions (and depending on which automatically imported transaction you keep or delete), you might end up with an Account Transfer called ‘Transfer DB’ that looks like a debit from one Account and a credit into another. You can opt to rename the transaction, if you’d like. Or, if you’d rather keep your ‘Transfer CR’ transactions going forward, just be sure to convert those ones into your Account Transfers going forward.

Hope that helps,
Karisa
