“How to remove all saved bank account information after unlinking an account” would be a good help topic.
I have a security concern with Goodbudget in that there appears to be no way to remove the saved/cached saved bank details. Sure I can unlink an account, but some information appears to be still stored in the back end and keeps the account name and last known balance. As far I as I can tell, Goodbudget might still be connecting and refreshing account information, but since I’ve “unlinked” there is no way to tell in the interface.
So, does anyone know how to accomplish this?
And related, is there any part of the site or app which will actively show or alert of any bank syncing issues?
Hi there – Thanks for the suggestion on the Help topic! We can wipe out that information immediately on our side, but unlinked accounts will automatically get wiped after 30 days.
If you want them cleared out now, please email me from the address you registered with, and I’ll prune those unlinked connections for you.
Finally, yes, if there is an issue with one of your bank connection, you’ll see an error at the top of your ‘Home’ page that says ‘Fix Bank Connection’.
Ok. it’s been a couple of days now and my checking and savings account transactions haven’t loaded recently in Goodbudget and I see no message about fixing connection issues.
Sorry for the trouble! While Goodbudget can sync your transactions, it won’t continuously sync down your balance from the bank. If your Account is not correct, you can manually update to make it match. Once it does, it should continue to match what you’ve got in real life as it pulls down your new transactions. Hope that helps!
