Recording Inter account transfers

Hey guys, thanks for your help in advance. My question relates to my checking account which allows me four different savings accounts. I am trying to keep my money organized by utilizing all of them and my question arises around this because when I set up my account, I believe it only saw or gave me the option to choose one. How do I add the rest so that when I am transferring money it can be properly recorded in Goodbudget. Specifically so that you get the picture, we were always direct deposited into our checking account, but I now see the benefit in direct depositing into a savings account and that way the money of the month that is being spent and allotted to be spent is not , increased with the money that should be being put aside for next month spend. Thus, short of going back and correcting our direct deposits, is there a way to add secondary and tertiary saving accounts in Goodbudget?

Editing to add…I deleted an envelope with two transactions. I was happy to see the one transaction in the list saying deleted and I was able to put it into the new envelope. Strangely, there was two before and I can’t find the other. This happened to two envelopes so it’s perplexing…one preserved “deleted” item and another not preserved…

If you’re using the free version of Goodbudget, you’ll only have one account to track and, IIRC, up to ten envelopes. Upgrading to a paid version allows you multiple accounts and nearly unlimited envelopes so you could track all five accounts.
One small caveat—any money in Accounts will be aggregated into your Available balance, so be sure to set up Savings envelopes to reflect the money in those accounts so it won’t accidentally be allocated to your regular budget envelopes!

I have the paid version. I think the issue is GB thinks for every bank account there could be 1 checking and 1 savings…but my account has a money market saving, a regular saving, and two other savings accounts.

That point about a savings envelope is good info. Yeah I would love it if there was like a weekly call in where we could visually see how to optimally organize or resolve issues. I learn better by doing

Are you talking about the import feature or just the app itself? I still enter mine manually so if this is a quirk of the import I wouldn’t be familiar with it. Otherwise you can name your accounts whatever you like, but you probably know that already

I think it’s an account set up issue that GB only sees 1 check and 1 saving.

Anyway I shall start with some videos I can watch for best practices/uses!

Tiff, I was wrong. I was able to figure out adding that other account! And now learning the nuances of recording things as transfers vs add income, etc.

Thanks for being such an active help on here!!
