If I have a pending deposit, does that amount get added to my checking account balance before the actual deposit date ( while it is still just pending ) or on the deposit date?
It depends on how you entered it in Goodbudget. It sounds like you chose to “Schedule” the transaction, so it won’t be entered into Goodbudget until the date specified, and will have the “pending” label in your ledger. Your balance won’t be affected until it posts.
If you just post-date it but don’t “schedule”, the “pending” label won’t show and it will update the balances immediately as if you’d already been paid.
