Linking Two Paypal Accounts

I am unable to link two Paypal accounts. I link the first Paypal account successfully, but when I attempt to link a second account (my wife’s account), I make it all the way through the Plaid dialogues to connect the account, I put a checkbox next to the account I want to add to Goodbudget (it shows the correct balance), but when I return to Goodbudget accounts after Plaid appears to be successful, there is no option to link the Paypal account in Goodbudget to the linked Paypal account that I just added through Plaid. I have many other accounts linked, including ones where my wife and I have separate accounts at the same banks.

I remember with some other budgeting/spend tracking software that I’ve used in the past where attempting to link more than one Paypal account did not work. Is it known if Goodbudget also has a limitation?

Edit: I removed the first Paypal account and I was able to successfully link my wife’s Paypaly account, but then I could not re-link my account. This might be a connector issues more than a Goodbudget issue (I’ve run into this Finicity and perhaps Plaid has the same issue).

Hi @RossF,

Thank you for contacting the Goodbudget community! According to Plaid, you can link multiple PayPal accounts for a Household as long as each account has its own unique login credentials.

If you would like further support, then email our Support team at support@goodbudget.com so we can follow up with you on this specific case.

Appreciate your patience,
Chloe

Thank you! I’ll submit a ticket as we do have 2 sets of unique credentials.

This is a follow up post to this thread for our Goodbudget Community:

We brought this case to one of our developers at Goodbudget and they informed us that Goodbudget’s system is having difficulty distinguishing the PayPal Account names. Unfortunately, the way PayPal names their Accounts causes Goodbudget to be unable to distinguish the differences.

This is a bug that we have flagged. We will update this forum thread if/when this issue has been resolved.

Appreciate your patience,
Chloe
