when i move money from checking to savings it shows up in my transactions as both an expense and income. What is the best way to handle these. Do just delete one of the two and log the other correctly as a transfer?
Hi @jseymour186
Thanks for your post! It sounds like you’re using Bank Sync. There are a few different ways you can handle this situation. The easiest way is to use Goodbudget’s Match tool to merge the expense and income together to create your single Account Transfer.
You can see how to do that in Option 1 of this article: https://goodbudget.com/help/automatic-bank-sync/i-have-two-imported-transactions-what-should-i-do/
Hope that helps!

When I try to match these transactions it says “I can not match the selected transaction types.” I assume this is because I foolishly set them both as transfers hoping the system would understand what i was trying to do :). Is there a way to change one of them back from a “transfer”?
There’s not a way to change them back once you’ve converted them into Account Transfers. And if you’ve already done that, you’re only option is to delete one of the transfers, so you don’t have your CC payment recorded twice. But, next time, you can use Option 1 before you convert one of your synced transactions into an Account Transfer.
