Hello: I did a quick check of my budgeted amount ($4,871.62) versus income ($4,697.35) and found out that I spend slightly more than I receive ($174.27). Obviously I need to fix this by adjusting some envelope balances but I wonder do the annual envelope fills somehow adjust for slight differences like this? I’m asking because I’ve been tracking the amounts in the annual envelope fills and they don’t always fill evenly.
It depends on how you have your Fill set up. With Annual Envelopes, specifically, most folks use the “Add” refill option since they’re trying to grow a balance. And if you’re using the “Add” [budgeted amount] refill option, then any changes you make to your budgeted amounts will automatically be reflected in your scheduled Fills.
However, if you’re using a “Set” refill option, or you’ve entered a specific number that’s different from the budgeted amounted, then your scheduled Fill won’t auto-update. I hope that makes sense.
