Deleted Debt Envelope being filled with scheduled fills

Hello! I noticed that some deleted debt envelopes are still being filled in scheduled envelope fills. Those envelopes aren’t scheduled to be filled.

That being said, the numbers are different when I search for that envelope in different ways. For example, when I open the posted fill from another envelope, the deleted envelope has a negative balance but when I search for the transactions in that deleted envelope, it shows a balance of over $3,300.

Looking at your screenshot collage I notice a couple of things—first, your image showing the transactions you searched only shows the Fills to the deleted envelope but not the payments, which would seem to be why the balance looks artificially bloated. Next, your list of scheduled fills says six envelopes were filled but the listing only displays four, with the envelope of interest seemingly cut off. Could you show the entire Debt section in the scheduled fill? The Fill you show looks like it’s a regularly scheduled addition, so if we could see the rest of the Debt section of your next upcoming Fill it may shed some light on things. Are you confident that you adjusted it before it posted? Adjustments made after an item is in your ledger won’t be reflected in any future entries, but adjustments to Scheduled transactions are persistent. Hope we can get to the bottom of this!

Thanks for the help! You only see fills because nothing has been spent out of that envelope since January of '23. There are no more Debt Payment envelopes other than what is listed: (Discover Loan, Mortgage, CGH Loan, NEA Loan, SECU Loan). I’m guessing the 6th envelope is the deleted one I’m trying to stop filling. I’m including the original screenshot of the Scheduled Fill.

Hmmm… yeah, I got nuthin :face_with_diagonal_mouth: @karisa or @alex any ideas?

Thanks for posting and sorry for the trouble! I was able to find your Household and do some digging. It looks like you’ve already made changes. As far as I can tell, you deleted your original scheduled Fill (that was adding money to the Deleted Envelope), and then created a new one so that your Deleted Envelope doesn’t receive funds going forward. I can confirm that your Deleted Envelope is not part of your new scheduled Fill, so it will not receive funds going forward.

Generally, when I’ve seen this happen in the past, the Deleted Envelope can be seen in the scheduled Fill. I’m not sure why it wasn’t showing in your screenshot. Did the screenshot come after you deleted / recreated the Fill? If so, that would be why.

But now that you’ve created a new Fill, you should be good to go! Let me know if you have more questions.

Thanks for checking on it. You are correct. I just figured at this point it would be easier to delete the old scheduled fill and create a new one. Thank you for the confirmation. I took the screenshot before I created the new fill.

While I have you, though, I have another question. Sometimes my scheduled fill has $0.00 listed to fill certain envelopes even though I put an amount in when I created the fill. Also, it only seems to happen with Debt Payment envelopes. You’ll notice in my previous screenshots that the scheduled fill says $0.00 for the CGH Loan but the posted fill says it put in $132.70. It’s the same with the CGH Loan and the Mortgage in the new scheduled fill. I’m not overly concerned because the amount I want to put in always appears on the scheduled date but I am curious why that happens. I’m happy to create a new thread if that would be more appropriate.
