I reconciled my bank account and then accidentally deleted a cleared transaction. I need to add that transaction back in; however, the reconciliation says it’s all balanced…but it shouldn’t be because I’d deleted that transaction. How do I add that back and show it as reconciled?
The reconciliation will only compare the current balance to the last input balance, so if there’s an older error it may go unrecognized. In this case, you’ll want to re-enter the deleted transaction then reconcile again with the original date and balance of that statement and it should work out.
If it doesn’t, you’ll need to adjust the “previous balance” in the screens leading to the reconciliation by the amount of the “new” transaction, and that should have it sorted.
