Default Behavior in App and Website

I’m confused by the default date on new transactions when entered on the website. I almost always want the date to be the current date. I cannot discern how the website chooses the date, since it doesn’t seem to be consistent. Is there a way for me to control this? Or am I stuck with almost always having to change the date?

In the Android app, the option to save the location defaults to “selected”. I almost never enter a transaction while at the location. I can’t imagine it ever being convenient to do that. Is there some way to have this default to “unselected”?

Thanks! Despite these issues, I love the system, the website, and the app!

I use Chrome and Safari on my Mac and FireFox on iOS (in addition to the app). I find that if I refresh the screen before entering a transaction, it should default to the current date unless I’m entering multiples at once (“Save & New”). In that case, it defaults to the date of the last transaction, assuming one’s working from a list that’s likely in chronological order.
Refreshing will also add any new payees to the data, allowing them to auto-populate the suggestion list for the next entries.

Hi @Guy_Calabrese - Thanks for your post! The website will default to the current date. But if you’ve left your Goodbudget browser tab open over night, the page will timeout and then you’ll see yesterday’s date when you add a new transaction. Be sure to refresh the page before adding new transactions so that you see the correct date. Hope that helps!

Refreshing the browser fixed the date! Thanks, Karisa!

I still would love some other changes: App: Default to not checked for linking current location to each new transaction. Website: Any user activity resets the “stay logged in” timer. Not having to check the box every time to stay logged in.
