Credit Card Refund

I have a CC that I do all my living expenses on and I pay it off in full every month.
I return things once in a while and I get a credit issued to the card.
On the web version of GB, I can select the transaction and I choose Credit, but it makes me choose an envelope. So I choose House Maintenance. It then applies this credit to that envelope.

I think I just want it to apply the credit to the credit card instead…but Im not sure. Applying it to the envelope I think misrepresents where the funds actually live.
What am I missing?

@Rod_Wilson — Good question! When you return something, like a shirt at Target, you’ll want to credit that money back to your Clothing Envelope, since the refund signaled that money as being unspent.

However, if you don’t want your returned funds added back to the specific Envelope they came from, you could add your credit as an Income to Available. Then, you’ll be able to divvy that credit up to your Envelopes when you’re ready to fill next time.

Hope that helps!
