Confused how to do credit card payments

We just pay in full, and im trying to follow what the videos say to do, but our available cash and credit cards are getting all messed up.

help appreciated

If you’re paying in full and the card is set up that way, just think of it like a regular account. Your envelopes and budget won’t be affected, but when you enter a transaction you’ll enter it against the credit card instead of, for example, your checking account.
Although the CC balance shows as positive, it’s a debt so it represents money you owe. When you make a payment, you’ll just transfer money from checking to the credit card without any envelope transactions.
Assuming you only filled your envelopes with money you had in your account to begin with, there will be enough to cover the card balance when you pay it off. Unsolicited pro tip  if you’re trying to improve your credit score, pay off most of the card just BEFORE the budget cycle closes. That way your statements will reflect low credit usage which is beneficial. If for example you max out your card every month but then pay it in full, your credit score will still be negatively impacted because they don’t consider what happens in the interim, only the final reported balance.

Tysm!

So what do i do with the two transactions that come through. The black and green transactions? Just delete those? and then transfer money from my checking account (the account i used to pay it off)?

@joshzegan - Sounds like you’re using Bank Sync, and you’re receiving two imported transactions for your single real-life Account Transfer.

There are a few different ways you can handle those transactions. If you’ve manually recorded your Account Transfer, you can use Goodbudget’s Match tool to merge the automatically imported transactions into the manual Account Transfer that you previously recorded. You can read about that process on our Help Center.

Alternatively, if it’s easier for you, you can also just delete the automatically imported transactions and keep the manual Account Transfer.

Hope that helps!
