Bulk categorising bank transactions

New to GoodBudget here.

I’m trying to start off by importing my transactions over the last year so I could categorise them all and work out the budget in the first place, which was a large reason I came to begin. I can upload the transactions without a problem, however I can’t find a way to search a keyword and select all and match to a category? For example, I pay $5 into each kid a week as pocket money, but that’s 24 transactions a week and I really don’t want to have to click each one individually and name and mark it as a “Kids’ Savings” envelope. Same for fuel; that’s 10 or so transactions each month. I want to search “pocket money”, select all then categorise all as that and have it work out that I use $X/month for pocket money.

@Anzie_Rose - Thanks for your post! First, use the ‘advanced’ search link on the website to help you filter and find your desired transactions. You can use the ‘Keyword’ search bar to find common Payee names of your transactions, or use the other selectors, like ‘Date.’

Once your transactions are returned to you, use the Bulk Edit tool
to rename transaction, or move them en masse to your Envelopes.
