I have been using Goodbudget for a couple of years and have used envelope budgeting for over 25 years. My bank accounts (2 checking, 1savings, and HSA) are not linked as I prefer to enter the transactions myself. Every month I reconcile; however, I was noticing my envelope balances seemed too large. So, after reconciling at the end of the year, I added up the envelopes and checked against my account balances. The Goodbudget amount exceeds my account balances by a lot (thousands). They are all more than the bank balances - not like an incorrect transaction between accounts. Might the group have any thoughts on what I can to investigate?
Are you including your Available envelope in the math? If so, I’d send an email to the Admins. Once in a while, something doesn’t save correctly and the balances can be off, but I haven’t heard of it being off by thousands.
