Help…I accidentally deleted a fill envelop transaction and the funds didn’t show back up in Available. I am not sure if the envelops adjusted or not and if the amounts are correct. All I know is that my available amount is now negative and it should be positive with the amount of income that I received.
Was it a Fill from New Income? That should be the only way your Available would be negative now. Let us know if it was that or a Fill from Available and we can work through the next steps!
It was a fill from New Income. The New Income line item is still in the ledger but the Available isn’t showing the amount of the New Income.
Something interested just happened. I had 2 unconfirmed transactions that I just confirmed and the Fill amount went from negative to positive with those 2 transactions. And I know that the Fill from New Income from on 17Jan2025 is still missing and I cannot adjust the fill amounts for the envelopes.
I can’t imagine anything like what you’re describing; can you post a screenshot(s)?
Sorry, I just figured out the positive balance and rectified that situation. All I know now is that Available is at zero (0), but the Envelope fill from the New Income
In the image you can see the Available is zero and there is a income for 3242.62. There used to be a Fill Envelopes line item that I disbursed the funds into the envelopes like I have for the 1997.66. There was a message asking if I wanted to do this and I didn’t think there was any harm. I don’t remember what the message said, but now I know I shouldn’t have.
This clip makes it appear that all of your income from both deposits went into Emergency Savings. If so, that envelope should be overfilled and you’ll just need to transfer it back to Available with an envelope transfer. Then you can redistribute the funds to the envelopes where the money is needed with a “Fill from Available”.
Would that align with what you’re seeing?
I am not seeing an overfill in the Emergency Savings envelope. The below picture shows only the envelope fill from the 1997.66 in the Emergency Fund envelope.
The Envelope fill for 3242.62 that I accidentally deleted is still missing. I even went as far as deleting the income line item on 01/17/205 for 3242.62 and then recreated it. But when I did that the Available amount still only showed 0. Then I created another Income transaction for 3242.62 and then the 3242.62 showed in available. I am not sure why the 3242.62 didn’t show when deleted the Income transaction and then recreated the Income transaction.
As you can see in this screenshot that there is 2 Income transactions for 3242.62 and 1997.66 but only the Envelope fill for the 1997.66 is showing in the Envelopes ledger after I deleted the Envelope fill transaction. I did NOT initially delete the Income transaction. I was expecting the 3242.62 to show back up as available, but it didn’t and I don’t know how to correct this. Thanks for your help.
Hmmm…still trying to suss this out. Are your Savings and Money Market account balances accurate compared to your bank?
Did you auto-import your income? Or maybe enter it separately? If you did, and then you did a Fill from New Income, then it would have been double-counted. It seemed odd that you said you deleted a “Fill from New Income” transaction but the income line item remained in place–if it wasn’t imported (or you didn’t create both an income AND a “fill from income” transaction) then there’s something weird going on.
I’ve done “tele-support” calls with other users before over Zoom but I am FULLY aware that not everybody is comfortable with that, and I’m not affiliated with GB I’ve just been using it for years so I know a lot of the “quirks”. I’m happy to do that if you want, otherwise @karisa can hopefully help!
The Money Market and Savings account balances are accurate compared to my bank.
The income is auto-imported like the rest of my transactions.
To me this is a “something weird going on” situation.
I am open to a Zoom call, but I can see what @karisa has to comment on the situation.
@karisa Could you please provide your commentary on the situation. In essence the goal is to undo the delete that I did for the Envelope Fill on 01/17/2025 so that my envelope ledgers are correct.
