I played in my 20s, then spent my 30s working on graduate degrees instead of building up savings/retirement. I’m now playing catch-up - but I’ve gotten serious about budgeting to balance enjoying life in the now against emergency savings and the kind of retirement I hope for. It may be later in life, but I’ve discovered the freedom that living within my means brings!
