Scheduling Fills

I’ve just started to try scheduling - started with scheduling my income on a fortnightly basis, starting on 9th September (instead of entering manually).

However, if I want to schedule filling envelopes in the same way as scheduling my income, for a future date, Good Budget records the amounts I plan to allocate in each envelope, straight away. (As a result, Good Budget shows that extra scheduled money I don’t currently have in the envelope).

Would this mean, if I want to schedule “fills”, to have the envelopes reflect what I actually have in each one, would I have to:

  • Firstly do a manual fill, when income is actually recorded in Good Budget; and
  • Then set up scheduling the fills at the same time?

PS: I have several envelopes that use regular fortnightly constant amounts, so I love the idea of the scheduling and I like the sweep option of putting the rest in available! Thank you

I hope this question makes sense - slowly getting the hang of automation! Best regards.

You should be able to anticipate future fills on a schedule, but you’ll need to be sure you’ve entered the correct date AND clicked the “schedule this” box with a frequency (even if the first one is today). If you “Fill from New Income”, this will record both a fill and income at the same time, but not until payday.

Hope that helps!

Thanks so much for your info/help Tiffany! It sure works now. (I originally forgot to click the “schedule this” box).

Best regards

Janet

I’m glad it was an easy fix!
